Before you start
You need root access. Malware Protect uses scanners already installed on the server and does not install them.
Steps
-
Choose at least one scanner.
Supported: ImunifyAV or Imunify360, ClamAV, Linux Malware Detect 2.x and YARA 4.2 or newer.
-
Install it with the vendor’s instructions.
Use the vendor’s documented installer or your OS packages, and keep its signatures up to date.
-
Set ImunifyAV to report only.
In ImunifyAV or Imunify360 settings, set the default action for detected malware to notify, so the scanner never cleans files itself.
-
Check the scanner list.
Open Zamfoo Malware Protect → Scan. Installed scanners can be selected; others are shown as unavailable.
What you should see
Your scanner appears in the Scanner list and a test scan completes.
If something goes wrong
LMD versions older than 2.x and YARA older than 4.2 are listed as unsupported. Malware Protect turns off LMD’s own quarantine and cleaning when it runs LMD. Installing free ImunifyAV does not buy an Imunify360 license.
