Before you start
You need root SSH access, the Malware Protect release installed at /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/zamfoo_malware (supplied when you buy Malware Protect or Apex), and at least one supported scanner. See Prepare scanners for Malware Protect.
Steps
-
Check that the release is present.
List the deployment folder and look for install-timer.sh and install-account-portal.sh.
ls /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/zamfoo_malware/deployment/ -
Start background maintenance.
Install the maintenance timer, which runs queued work and expires saved copies.
bash /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/zamfoo_malware/deployment/install-timer.sh -
Install account reports.
Register Zamfoo Malware Protect in WHM and add Malware Reports to cPanel under Security.
bash /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/zamfoo_malware/deployment/install-account-portal.sh -
Check the timer.
The timer should be enabled and active.
systemctl status zamfoo-malware-maintenance.timer -
Open Malware Protect.
In WHM, open Plugins → Zamfoo Malware Protect. The installed scanners are listed on Scan.
-
Run a test scan.
Scan one test account and check that the scan completes.
What you should see
WHM opens Zamfoo Malware Protect, the maintenance timer is active and the cPanel Malware Reports page loads.
If something goes wrong
If no scanner is listed, install one first; Malware Protect does not install scanners. If ImunifyAV is set to clean files automatically, Malware Protect will not start ImunifyAV scans until its default action is set to notify only.
