Diagnose DNS, HTTPS and certificate issues

Check a domain’s DNS, public HTTPS response and certificate as Root.

Before you start

Open Apex Operations Center as Root.

Steps

  1. Find the account.

Open Accounts & Diagnostics and filter by account or domain.

  2. Choose Diagnose.

    Use Diagnose beside the account.

  3. Choose the domain.

    Select the domain to check.

  4. Run the checks.

Select Run checks. Opening the dialog never starts network checks on its own.

  5. Read each result.

Check DNS, the website response and the certificate separately.

  6. Follow the next steps.

Use the suggested action for any failed check, then open the website in your browser as a final check.

What you should see

Each check reports a result or explains why it could not run.

If something goes wrong

Results are reused for 30 seconds, and checks for the same domain cannot overlap. An unreachable domain can take several seconds to time out. The stored certificate expiry and the public HTTPS result can differ, for example behind a CDN; review both.

LEARN BY DOING

Try the working Apex Operations practice panel

This runs the plugin’s interface code with sample data in your browser. You can try buttons and forms here. Results are simulated and reset when you reload the panel.
