Before you start

You need root SSH access and a current backup. Pause automatic account creation in your billing software while you work.

Steps

  1. Check how Zamfoo was installed.

    Run the package check.

    rpm -q Zamfoo

If it says package Zamfoo is not installed, this server uses a manual or custom deployment. Ask support to repair that deployment before using the RPM installer.

  2. Back up settings and the license.

Keep a private backup of /home/root/.zamfoo, each reseller’s .zamfoo folder, the license file and any custom account-creation hooks. Back up hosting accounts through WHM as well.

  3. Download the current installer.

Download a fresh copy rather than reusing an old script.

    cd /root
    curl -fSL https://www.zamfoo.com/downloads/install.sh -o zamfoo-install.sh
  4. Run the repair or update.

Review the script, then run it. The script uses RPM’s upgrade/reinstall mode.

    bash /root/zamfoo-install.sh

To request a specific release, use a version supplied by support: bash /root/zamfoo-install.sh VERSION.

  5. Check the license and WHM menu.

Open WHM → Plugins → Zamfoo Reseller. If asked for a key, use your existing issued key. Check your tier and package settings.

  6. Check account tracking.

Open Account Sync & Reconciliation. Review any differences and test account creation with a disposable account before restarting billing automation.

What you should see

Zamfoo opens, your saved settings and key are correct, and a test account receives the expected tier.

If something goes wrong

The package keeps your license and settings files during an upgrade or reinstall, and removes the WHM menu only when Zamfoo is uninstalled. Keep a backup anyway, because older packages or custom deployments may behave differently. Reinstalling is not a way to restore deleted hosting accounts.
